SALAY, MIS. OR., 2022, Apr 22 — Conveying the happy faces of the Local Government Unit of Salay workforce headed by Mayor Jun Capistrano together with the DILG X Regional Assessment Team (RAT) accompanied by DILG Misamis Oriental in the person of MLGOO Isadora Cabildo, after a successful 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Assessment, held at the OPDA Building on April 21, 2022.

Mayor Jun Capistrano, MLGOO Rey Gilbert Capricho, MPDC Roy Czar Lumacad, and the municipal department heads led the preparation and presentation of the documents for the evaluation.

The assessment underwent two phases: the on-site validation of the LGU facilities, buildings, and structures, and the evaluation of the documents to support the SGLG requirements and criteria.

To be able to get the seal, LGUs need to pass all 10 governance areas namely: Financial Administration & Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection & Sensitivity; Safety, Peace and Order; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness & Competitiveness; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts; and Youth Development.

After a day of rigid evaluation, the LGU Salay received a very good feedback (in all governance areas) from the regional evaluators.

A consistent SGLG passer since 2016, LGU Salay is vying for its fifth SGLG as it aims to pass the regional assessment to qualify for the national evaluation in August this year.

The SGLG is the highest recognition and the most prestigious award given by the DILG to excellent and performing LGUs in the delivery of public service through compliance to pertinent national laws and guidelines.

Buswak pa, Salay!
