During the 118th Philippine Independence Day celebration in Salay, DOST-10 Regional Director Alfonso P. Alamban made a compelling revision on the celebration’s theme while serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
“KALAYAAN 2018: Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan…Through Technology and Innovation.”

Director Alamban, whose Salayano roots kept him coming back to his hometown, underscored in his speech that Filipinos can achieve true independence from poverty with the right focus on research, access to quality education, and improvement of technology and innovation.
